Spirit of Competition
Our new two-year theme, Spirit of Competition, will examine five core elements of competition: civility, rivalry, innovation, passion and failure. Through this initiative, Indiana Humanities will inspire students, teachers, community leaders, businesses and other organizations to think, read and talk about the role of competition in their lives. more
Community Conversations
To help multi-county regions in Indiana address their most challenging concerns, the Bowen Center for Public Affairs at Ball State University and Indiana Humanities have teamed up to present community conversations across the state. more
Novel Conversations
Novel Conversations is a statewide lending library open to any Indiana citizen. Through this program, Indiana Humanities provides sets of books free to book clubs. more
INconversation
INconversation is a question and answer style discussion designed to connect national thought leaders with an audience of engaged community leaders (think “Inside the Actor’s Studio” with creative minds from the worlds of business, politics, media, literature, design, etc.). more
Chew on This
This unique program is designed to use the power of food and drink as a convener of people and catalyst for conversation to inspire thoughtful discussion on engaging topics. more
Food for Thought
Food for Thought is an examination and celebration of the ways food helps to define Indiana’s culture, considering food in the context of history, law, politics, science, the arts, religion, ethnicity and our place in the world. Through this program, Hoosiers will share and sample the cultures reflected at the state’s table and address the local and global issues of hunger, nutrition, food production, obesity, food security and safety. more
