Keira Amstutz has been selected to be the new president and CEO of the Indiana Humanities Council, effective April 14th. Keira has a strong arts and humanities background including leading Indianapolis's Cultural Development Initiative.

The IHC is thrilled to to bring her passion for cultural programming to one of the country's oldest and most respected state humanities councils.

IHC Grant Deadline

The Indiana Humanities Council is pleased to announce its 2008 Grant guidelines. This year we are offering special priority to all requests for grant funding for programs that address our 2008 theme of immigration.

The next (and last) grant deadline is September 15th. Mark your calendars to give yourself plenty of time.

Governor's Award for Tomorrow's Leaders

Each year the twelve recipients of the Governor's Award for Tomorrow's Leaders of set the standard for civic engagement in all its various forms and the recipients of the 2007 award are no exception. Among this year's winners are peace activists, math whizzes, healers, and environmentalists, which just barely scratches the surface of the overwhelming diversity of interest that guarantees that they are, in fact, tomorrow's leaders.

The 2007 Recipients of the Governor's Award for Tomorrow's Leaders

The Governor's Awards for Tomorrow's Leaders were presented by Lt. Governor Becky Skillman at the Humanities Council's Indiana Leadership Retreat in Indianapolis on September 5, 2007. Each recipient was introduced by co-chair of the Awards Selection Committee and former award recipient, Matt Holley and received $1,000 in the form of a scholarship or a contribution to the charity of the recipient's choice.

Award recipients will be included in a recipient directory to be updated annually, offered opportunities to network with other recipients and to participate in the selection of future award recipients.
