ABOUT THE INDIANA HUMANITIES COUNCIL
The Indiana Humanities Council is an independent, not-for-profit organization supported by Indiana individuals, foundations, corporations, and by the National Endowment for the Humanities. Council's mission is to strenthen Indiana communities through targeted initiatives in leadership, education and culture. Each item listed here has an audience code, just beneath the title. The key is as follows:
E Elementary, suitable for ages 6-10
M Middle School, suitable for ages 11-13
H High School, suitable for ages 14-18
C College, suitable for study in a college classroom
A Adult, suitable for adults and serious students of a topic
P Public, suitable for presentation to a public group
Please note: These audience codes were assigned with general parameters in mind. The taste and sophistication of every audience vary. Preview is always recommended. Humanities To Go's staff can also consult with you individually about whether an item is appropriate for your particular group.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO BORROW THROUGH HUMANITIES TO GO?
Humanities To Go adheres to an annual subscription format.
Individual or Family $19

An Organization can be an individual school, college, university department, religious organization, senior citizen center, museum, public library, club, hospital, government agency, corporation, etc. Payment of the Individual fee or the Organization fee entitles you to a year's worth of unlimited borrowing privileges which include one-way shipping of videos, displays, and kits. WHO PAYS FOR RETURN SHIPPING?
As a subscriber, you are responsible for return shipping/postage charges for videos, displays and kits, and for two-way shipping charges for exhibits. Some items may also be returned at no charge via the statewide library courier, INCOLSA Wheels. (Check with Humanities To Go's staff or with your own organization to determine if you are a member of INCOLSA). Patrons in Indianapolis may also pick up and return items to the Humanities Council office at 1500 North Delaware Street.
WHAT IS THE LENDING PERIOD?
Videos are loaned for up to two weeks; kits, displays, and exhibits may be used for up to 4 weeks. The Indiana Humanities Council reserves the right to cancel subscriptions due to failure to return materials on time.
IS THERE A LIMIT TO HOW MANY ITEMS I CAN CHECK OUT?
No. Items are reserved for patrons on a first-come, first-serve basis.
