food for thought An instructional toolkit is a collection of unique instructional tools for teachers to use to advance student understanding of “big ideas” through inquiry into historical people, places, and events. These toolkits have been created as examples of how to use humanities-rich resources to support student and teacher learning. These toolkits include materials to help teachers learn about the content focus as well as plans for how to use the content with students. Each lesson plan is written for the 6th grade classroom with 4th and 8th grade variations listed at the end of the lesson.
