Why Does Indianapolis Need Indiana?

Join Indiana Humanities for an innovative, engaging program at the Indiana State Fair.

What: Indiana depends on Indianapolis to succeed. However, Indianapolis depends on Indiana as well. How can we leverage the strengths of both? To fully explore these opportunities Indiana Humanities will create an interactive space, online and at the Indiana State Fair, where we’ll ask Hoosiers to discuss: Why Indianapolis Needs Indiana (and Why does Indiana Need Indianapolis?)

This is an IndyTalks event. IndyTalks is a collaboration of more than 20 groups in Central Indiana, dedicated to fostering a sense of community through respectful and creative civic dialogue. This year’s theme is “Indy as a Super City.” Learn more.

Cost: Free with admission to the State Fair ($8)

Why: Indiana’s identity is shaped by all Hoosiers across the state. We hope this question will help Hoosiers understand the vital relationship between Indiana and Indianapolis.
